Just like yesterday’s Wordle 591, I solved Wordle Today on the fifth attempt. So you can say that it was a close call. In fact, so close that I couldn’t get even a single green block till my 4th attempt but the sun shone on me when my “guess” on the fifth attempt proved to be the answer.

My first starting word for today was CRANE. As you can see, it didn’t reveal much other than the letter C and that too in a yellow block.
Since I knew that C is in there somewhere, I tested WITCH as it has C and no other letter was used in the first attempt. Surprisingly, even this word didn’t prove to be that helpful and my second attempt proved to be the same as the first one.
I decided to use MOCKS and to be honest, I knew this was never going to be the word for today’s Wordle but I wanted to see what other letters were in the puzzle. This came back with O, C and S in yellow blocks.
Now, I have used three attempts, without even a single green block but with the valuable insight that C is not present on the 1st, 3rd or 4th spot, O on the 2nd and S on the 5th.
My fourth attempt was clearly a stupid move as I again used the same combination of OC on the second and third spots and S on the fifth. Honestly speaking, I didn’t put a lot of thought into it.
Anyways, with only 2 attempts left, I took a lot of time to think of the words that I could make up with all the letters now available on Wordle’s digital keyboard. I couldn’t think of any 5-letter words starting with O and having C and S in them so I decided to use S as the opening letter and looking at the virtual keyboard, the only letter that came to my mind was SCOLD which finally, proved to be the Wordle of the Day
