My Own Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle

So you want to see how I finally solved today’s NY Times Wordle? Here’s a video representation of my thought process.

All right, so my today’s starting word was WAIST. I chose this because there are not many words that start with W, let alone 5-letter words. So things are supposed to get challenging when I start with such words.

Anyway, the first word gave me I and T in yellow blocks at the 3rd and 5th spots respectively.

Now, my utmost priority was to track down the exact positions of these two letters so I used TIGER on my second attempt.

This word gave me the location of the letter I (at the 2nd spot) but still, I wasn’t that much sure about the letter T. However, as the results suggested, it was either in the 3rd or the 4th spot.

So keeping this in view, I went for DITCH and it gave me T again in the yellow block which meant that the letter T was on the 4th spot.

With the 9 letters like A, C, D, E, G, H, R, S and W already ruled out of today’s wordle I wasn’t left with too many letters so I knew that there are definitely going to be repeat letters in there and with T on the 4th spot, my “spider senses” were tinkling that today’s challenge’s ending letter is Y.

Therefore, trusting my hunch and following this logic, the only word (that I could think of at the time of solving this puzzle) that fit these criteria was FIFTY which I tested and as expected, it worked and that’s how I solved the Wordle Of The Day.
