My Own Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle

So you want to see how I finally solved today’s NY Times Wordle? Here’s a video representation of my thought process.

If you’ve been following Wordle of The Day for some time then you must know that every day, just to keep things interesting, I use a new starting word that I had never used before. So my new 5-letter word to start off today’s Wordle was STAIN.

It came back with just one yellow block which was surprising to me as I thought that STAIN, with A and I in it and S and T as popular consonants, wasn’t that bad starting word at all. Anyway, the only yellow block was at the third spot for the letter, A.

For my second attempt, I thought that today, we have one of those 5-letter words that start with A and end with E so I shot with ABOVE. Although it didn’t give me any green blocks but it did give me two yellow blocks. One at the first spot, A and the second at the third spot, O.

After my first assumption was proven wrong, I made a second assumption. Which was that the Wordle Today is one of those 5-letter words ending with AO. So I tried CHIAO. I was wrong again as it again gave me two yellow blocks at the 4th and 5th positions for A and O respectively.

Changing my strategy a bit, and keeping in view the first three attempts, I tried FOLIA. To my amazement, it gave me three green blocks. O, L and A at the 2nd, 3rd and 5th spots respectively.

From here, although it wasn’t easy but I was not left with too many English words that fulfill the criterion to be used as the word for my next attempt so I tried POLKA for my fifth attempt. This ultimately turned out to be the Wordle of The Day and that’s how I solved the Wordle Today.
