Well, I was able to solve it in 4 attempts, however, these 4 attempts did take a little bit of thinking and analysis. Therefore, I took around 5 minutes to solve this puzzle. Having said that, the word itself is not a difficult one. I’m sure everyone has heard it and its spelling is also not too difficult.

The only issue someone could face is that there’s a high probability of ending up with a rhyming word because you can make various words using the sequence of the last 3 letters. So be careful with that.

My Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle

So you want to see how I finally solved today’s NY Times Wordle? Here’s a video representation of my thought process.

1st Word – RATIO

As usual, my first 5-letter word to start today’s NY Times Wordle was the word that we correctly guessed for Wordle 654, RATIO and it didn’t prove to be a great starting word at all as it give me only a single yellow block with the letter A on the second spot.

2nd Word – AGUSH

Whenever I end up with the result as in the first attempt, I normally try to start my second word with the letter that showed up in the yellow block in the first attempt. Since in today’s case, it was the letter A, I chose to test AGUSH for my second attempt.

AGUSH turned out to be a great choice as it gave me not one but two green blocks right at the end with the letters S and H in them.

3rd Word – CLASH

Since I now had unlocked the 4th and 5th blocks and the last 2 attempts proved that A wasn’t at the first and second spots, it was clear that the exact position of the letter A was at the 3 spot. So my objective was to think of a word with ASH in the end.

Therefore, I came up with CLASH for my 3rd attempt and it didn’t help me a lot other than letting me know that the letters C and L wasn’t part of the puzzle.

4th Word – SMASH

By the end of 3 attempts, I now had around 5 different candidates that could have gone in there, however, paying heed to the kind of words that Wordle asks by looking at the Wordle Answers Archive, my vote was for SMASH and this indeed proved to be the correct word and that’s how I solved the Wordle of the day.
