My Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle

So you want to see how I finally solved today’s NY Times Wordle? Here’s a video representation of my thought process.

1st Word – UNDER

All right then. If you’ve been following me here for some time, I’m sure you must know why I used UNDER as the first word to start today’s NY Times Wordle.

That’s right. Since it was the correct word for the previous day’s Wordle 660 as a “self-imposed” rule, I start a new Wordle with the previous day’s correct word. Hence UNDER.

This 5-letter word didn’t prove to be that helpful as it gave me only one yellow block at the very beginning with the letter U in it.

2nd Word – BUCKS

Since the letter U was in there but not in the first position, I decided to try it in the second. Therefore, for my second attempt, I chose BUCKS.

Although it did confirm the exact position of the letter U by showing it in a green block on the second spot, it didn’t give me any other colored block.

3rd Word – DUMPY

I chose DUMPY for my third attempt because I thought that today’s correct word would end with Y. In fact, I was so sure that I didn’t even care about the fact that the letter D was already ruled out in the first attempt.

Anyway, I was wrong as Y didn’t appear in any colored block nevertheless, DUMPY showed me M in a yellow block thus confirming that the letter M is also part of today’s puzzle.

4th Word – QUALM

With U in the second spot and M not in the third or second, I took a wild swing with QUALM for my fourth attempt.

Another reason I chose this word was that it contains A which is quite a popular vowel. As soon as I hit enter, I was surprised to see every block turning green. Although I solved the Wordle of the day by the fourth attempt, it was a fluke.
