My Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle
1st Word – DWELT
Since the correct word for yesterday’s Wordle 666 – Published on Apr 16, 2023 was DWELT this became my very first 5-letter word to start my today’s NY Times Wordle journey.
WHIFF came me a yellow block on the second spot revealing that the letter W is part of today’s puzzle.
2nd Word – WORMS
For my second attempt, I used the word, WORMS. Since it has a vowel and a popular consonant like S, I thought that it will be a great word to experiment with.
Although WORMS didn’t give me too many colored blocks but it did give me one green block right at the beginning with the letter W in it. Since I now knew the very first letter of the puzzle for sure, this helped me narrow down the list of the potential correct words.
3rd Word – WHACK
As I now knew the starting word, for my third attempt, I used WHACK and in addition to the letter W right in the beginning, WHACK gave me another green block on the second spot with the letter
I shifted EL from the 4th and 5th spots to the 3rd and 4th spots and this worked for me.
FIELD gave me two green blocks with the letters E and L in them and a yellow block with the letter D right in the end.
4th Word – WHICH
The word for my fourth attempt, WHICH was a total waste of my attempt as the previous attempt already ruled out the letter C and while coming up for a word for this attempt, I didn’t pay a lot of heed to this.
Anyway, WHICH wasn’t a total failure as it gave me an additional green block right in the middle, i.e. the third spot with the letter I in it.
5th Word – WHIFF
By the time I reached the 5th attempt, I had ruled out most of the potential candidates so it wasn’t too hard for me to guess the correct word. Therefore, I typed in WHIFF for my 5th attempt and not too surprisingly, every block turned green once I hit enter and that’s how I solved the Wordle of the Day.
Wordle 667 – DWELT – Meaning
WHIFF as a noun means an aroma, scent, odor, puff or breath. As a verb, WHIFF means the action of sniffing or taking in a breath, etc.
