My Own Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle
1st Word – HUSKY
Keeping up with my commitment of using a never-used-before word for every new Wordle game, today, I started off with HUSKY. Since the word doesn’t contain any popular letter (both vowel or consonant) I wasn’t surprised when none of the single blocks turned yellow or green.
2nd Word – ALIEN
Anyway, the second word I tried was ALIEN and this time, I got two yellow blocks at the 4th and 5th spots (E and N respectively).
3rd Word – NEGRO
Given the result of the second attempt, for the third attempt, I tried NEGRO. The reason I used it is that I wanted to see if the combination of N and E is in the beginning. I was wrong, however, NEGRO gave me an additional letter, R in a yellow block at the 4th spot.
4th Word – RENEW
For the fourth attempt, I used, RENEW. This was a silly choice as I should have better known from the previous attempt that the letter E wasn’t on the second spot. I’ve made this kind of silly mistake a lot in the past as well. However, in my defense, call it writer’s block or something else, I wasn’t able to think of any other word that had R, E, and N in it.
RENEW didn’t give me any green block. Only 3 yellow blocks at the first, second and third spots.
5th Word – BRENT
Running short of attempts, now, looking at the digital keyboard that NY Times provides, I started to think of different combinations of letters to make up a valid 5-letter word that could be used in the 5th attempt. I’m not going to lie. This took me eons and after spending a considerable time, the word that I could come up with was BRENT.
With not a single green block by the end of the 4th attempt, BRENT proved to be a game-changer for me. It gave me R, E and N in green blocks on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th spots. Moreover, it also gave me another yellow block at the 5th spot with the letter T in it.
6th Word – TREND
With the results in the 4th attempt so explicit, it didn’t require a genius to figure out the correct word. So I transferred T to the beginning and added D at the end and that’s how I solved the Wordle Of The Day.
