My Step-By-Step Solution to Finding Answer to Today’s Wordle

So you want to see how I finally solved today’s NY Times Wordle? Here’s a video representation of my thought process.

1st Word – HOUND

I didn’t realize that the correct word for yesterday’s Wordle 668 – Published on Apr 18, 2023, HOUND was one of those 5-letter words that end with OUND – [_OUND] that I have previously written about. Feel free to check that out.

Anyway, as a self-imposed rule, HOUND was supposed to be my very first 5-letter word to start my today’s NY Times Wordle adventure and it turned out to be a great choice.

HOUND not only gave me a green block and that too right in the middle (3rd spot) with the letter U in it, but also gave me a yellow block right in the beginning with the letter H in it.

These two hints were almost enough to solve today’s puzzle which I did in just 2 more attempts.

2nd Word – THUMB

Given the result of the first attempt, using THUMB for my second attempt was an educated guess.

Since H wasn’t on the first spot, this made it a likely candidate for the second spot as I don’t know of any word that has U in the middle and then H in the 4th position. Thus I had only 2 spots to test H and I, for sensible reasons, tried it on the second spot and THUMB being the most simple word, I gave it a try.

Although I was expecting to solve the puzzle in just two attempts, I missed by just one block. After entering THUMB, all but the one last block turned green.

From here, it didn’t require a genius to crack the Wordle.

3rd Word – THUMP

For obvious reasons, I entered THUMP for my third attempt. Wasn’t too much of a difficult choice to make and this indeed proved to be the correct word and that’s how I solved the Wordle Of The Day.

Wordle 669 – THUMP – Meaning

THUMP both as a noun and a verb means a hit, blow, assault and similar other meanings.
